The fantastic Team at the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitor’s Bureau have been a huge help in planning Podcamp East.  They have spoken with local businesses, hotels and even AMTRAK to help up secure good rates for out of town visitors.

For those taking the train to Podcamp, the best hotel is The Sheraton Suites located on Delaware Avenue in the heart of Wilmington.    You will need to call the Sheraton and ask for the Podcamp East rate; Tara Kucharski is our contact there.  The rate is under $100 a night.

For those driving to Podcamp but needing a Hotel

The Best Western Brandywine Valley  may be a good choice.  It will be about a 5-10 minute drive on the outside to Podcamp, and very close to many places to eat and shop, including the Concord Mall (Don’t forget- Delaware is home to Tax Free shopping- take advantage!)  These rooms will be available only through September 14, and Mary Taylor is our contact.

You can call the hotel directly and identify yourself as part of Podcamp East; this will allow you to receive the discounted rate.  Without reference to Podcamp East, we can’t guarantee the rate of just $108 per night.  September 14 is a hard deadline for the preferred rate, so don’t miss out!

Transportation- AMTRAK

Through The Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, we have a link for discounted AMTRAK fares to Wilmington.  Click here for the discounted rates.  The Wilmington Train station is just a few blocks from Delaware Tech, our venue, making AMTRAK a very easy and convenient way to get to Wilmington from destinations North or South.
